1.0: QoL, stability and content
As you may know, the current state of Langort is highly unstable. To put it lightly. So I have fixed numerous bugs, making the experience a tad better, as well as added 1 new enemy and 3 new upgrade cards.
The current number of available upgrades is 10, each with 3 levels available for purchase at the shop. That makes all possible card combinations 30! It's very exciting to see the variety they introduce to each run. I will aim for around 30 possible card drops for the next couple of updates, making the possible card combinations to 90.
Also maybe make little pixel art icons for each one, so they are easily recognizable. Share your thoughts in the discord server(please it's dead).
New Enemy
The Spectre - an illusive ghost that moves slowly and hits pretty hard. They are harder to see due to fading periodically.
New Cards
Upgrade cards now have 2 types: generic and ability. The generic ones buff stats or change all gameplay in some way and the other ones change the behavior of abilities.
Windup - increases the heavy dash length by a percent, but also stamina cost by the same percent.
On The Mark - every successful gun shot decreases all ability cooldowns
Breathing Techniques - % faster stamina regeneration
Quality of Life changes
Due to popular demand, new abilities auto equip on the character if there is an available empty slot. Surprisingly many people didn't get that you have to drag the ability to an empty slot to equip it. If you have a suggestion for how to indicate that better, besides a tutorial, let me know.
Debugging is something that players generally don't care about, but it really helps me with development. Thanks to implementing the feature above, testing new abilities is very easy and convenient now. So expect a lot more abilities soon!
Roadmap
The Big Bad Evil Guy - I will bite down on making the Lich soon. As the boss, he will be pretty challenging, and probably pretty elusive (as a Lich does). The game will have an end! You can win now! Amazing.
More cards - As mentioned above, I'd like a lot more variety in the game, so giving the player more choices would be a priority.
Pacify ability - Together with the Lich I will release "Pacify" which will lower the ever increasing difficulty of the game. That means more time before the boss, and more upgrades/abilities. Pretty cool overall. Would be pretty slow to cast though, so use at your own discretion.
Parry ability - The first purely defensive ability, stunning everything that attacks the player for a short duration. Projectiles would probably reflect.
Again, feel free to join the Discord and help me with ideas/suggestions, or just to chat. Anyone is welcome!
